BSA Troop 33 is chartered by Fanwood Presbyterian Church, where it holds weekly meetings during the school year (excluding school holidays) on Mondays at 7:00 pm. Troop 33's Scouts range from 5th grade all the way through high school. A new Varsity program for older Scouts offers additional, age-appropriate activities.
Membership in Boy Scouts is open to any boy who meets at least one of the following criteria:
Troop 33 welcomes new Scouts any time of the year. Cub Scout experience is not a prerequisite for joining Boy Scouts!
| Fees: | Membership requires an annual dues payment of $50. Most monthly overnight trips are kept in an affordable $15 to $25 range by making use of a wide network of Boy Scout camping facilities. The troop also has initiated an active Trading Post, giving families the opportunity to share outgrown uniform components within the group. |
| Fundraising: | Fundraising is kept to a minimum. The troop is supported through membership fees, the annual popcorn sale, and several work days at the Fanwood Recycling Center. |
| Parent Participation: |
One of the secrets of Troop 33's success is the enthusiastic
participation of our parents as planners, organizers, teachers and
role models. While parental participation is not required, we hope
that all troop families will help out in some way -- there are plenty
of opportunities, suiting your time and talents.
Volunteering is a great way to have a positive impact on your
son's life -- and on other boys, as well. Plus, Scouting is
fun for parents, too!
Troop 33 is a community that grows and thrives because of the many people who support it.
