Scouting is Fun!

In addition to weekly meetings, there are monthly trips - where you’ll find our scouts cycling along the Delaware River, hiking the Appalachian Trail, visiting historic sites such as Gettysburg and West Point Academy, skiing, whitewater rafting, canoeing and winter cabin camping. Every year we compete with other area troops in the Klondike Derby. Troop 33 older Scouts enjoy additional offerings through our new Varsity program.

During the summer months the activities continue -- at Resica Falls Boy Scout Camp in Pennsylvania and Sabattis High Adventure Camp in upstate New York. We also have sent crews to Sea Base in the Florida Keys, with another group headed for Philmont Scout Ranch, New Mexico in 2006 -- spectacular experiences they’ll never forget. Scouting is Growing!

Generation after generation, Troop 33 has instilled the principles of Scouting, as embodied in our Scout Law:

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

You will find our Scouts cheerfully unloading your car at the Fanwood Recycling Center … setting up at the Library book sale … improving the Fanwood Nature Center … landscaping and beautifying public areas throughout our communities.

Service, personal growth, friendship and adventure -- these are the four pillars of Troop 33’s Scouting program. Committed adult leaders and mentors help our Scouts set and achieve goals, learn how to plan and work together, develop leadership abilities, and build outdoor survival skills.
